How to Choose the Right Fabric for Sports Uniforms
Fabric should be chosen against climate, decoration method and sample hand-feel — not against unverified lab slogans.

Sports uniforms are mostly polyester constructions, but “polyester” is not a complete spec. Knit type, weight and finish change comfort, print quality and price. Ablution Sports offers polyester, interlock, dry-fit, mesh and other performance fabrics as configurable options. We do not invent GSM, stretch percentages or moisture-test scores that have not been confirmed for a given lot.
Match fabric to decoration
All-over sublimation needs a compatible light polyester surface. Heavy embroidery on an unstable lightweight knit can pucker. Mesh looks right on many basketball jerseys and wrong on a formal cricket white. Tell the factory the decoration first, then pick a fabric that can carry it.
Climate and use
A winter tracksuit and a summer training tee should not share the same weight by default. If players train in heat, prioritize a sample that feels acceptable after a session, not a photo of a shiny knit.
Approve a swatch or garment
If color and hand-feel matter, approve them physically. Screens lie. A manufacturer that wants you to skip fabric approval is asking you to accept a surprise in bulk.
When you request a quote, name a fabric family if you have one, or ask for a recommended option based on the sport and print method. The quotation should then lock that choice.
